The Future She Wanted

Image
As we grow older, we always ask ourselves “What am I in the near future?”, “Am I going t be successful?”, “what are the things that I already achieve when that time comes?”. I know that a lot of us ask those things to ourselves and wonder, dreaming. When we’ve been working so hard to achieve our dreams, we cannot stop ourselves to daydream about what we wanted us to be in the future. For me, the next 10 years, I dream of myself being successful in the profession that I’ve chosen. I imagine myself traveling around the world with my family, being able to buy the things that I wasn’t able to buy today. But I also imagine myself struggling in life because it is part of our life, we don’t know what is the future, so we can imagine negative things, which is not bad at all because it is called facing the truth, accepting the reality. And at the same time, I also imagine myself being able to surpass those challenges and giving my very best to give me and my family a better life.  As for no...

It is for the best

Every change in this world must always start with ourselves. It is not specifically ourselves, like our body, but our attitude, manners, and perspective that can ruin us at any time. A lot of people believe that changing ourselves just because we want other people to love or like us is a bad perspective that needs to be changed as soon as possible. Change is not something that you can do for others; change is for yourselves. Changing is for growing and maturing, and being mature can also help to change others' perspectives and the whole world. In this world, change is very important. It sounds so risky and sad, but changing yourself is a sign that you are ready to grow and to be better. I am not saying that you are changing just because you were not good in the past. Growing is part of a human’s life; as we all grow, we are all maturing, and a lot of things will change. Don’t be afraid. Keep in mind that you are changing for your own good, not for someone else’s attention. As for m...

Mother

Image
Is there a day that has passed without you looking for your mother? Even though you are old enough to take care of yourself, you, or, should I say, we, still need our mother. I know, that is totally US. Because our mothers are the first ones to save us all since they are one of the safety nets that shield us from all dangers. Mothers are the ones who, in spite of their difficulties, are the first to sit next to us and listen quietly.    Mother's Day is observed annually on the second Sunday of May to honor all the sacrifices made by moms everywhere. The feelings of love and devotion we have for our mothers and the job they perform for us that goes unsaid, unacknowledged, and unpaid cannot be put into words. A mother always wants to see her kids, regardless of their age. It is our duty to always make our mothers happy and never put them through anything that would make them unhappy. We must always remember how fortunate we are to have moms, and this significant day serve...

Celebrating their hard work

Image
We celebrate Labour day around the world to raise awareness of the rights of working people and to protect them from exploitation. It is also serves as a reminder of the important role played by the working class in our society. By honoring the hard work and contributions of Filipino workers and all the workers all over the world, this celebration is very helpful for them to see that their hard works are being seen.   Workers can be often feel ignored, mainly when they do vigorous or otherwise emotionally and physically taxing jobs. Labour day is a day when workers can feel respected for the work that they have done all over the year. On Labour day, workers and their needs and rights are in focus. This day can be a motivation for refining worker’s efforts. They learn about their rights and to campaign and make movements.  This day is important as it enable workers to take some much-needed rest from their work and to collect their thoughts, spend time with their loved on...

Almost there

Another battle has come to an end, and here we are again facing another one. I’ve learned a lot of things, especially when interacting with others. When we joined the hip-hop dance competition, I learned to interact with other people, especially my classmates. I am so happy that even though we only won 2nd place, we are still so thankful that we had the chance to compete and show our talents. (Even though we only practiced for 2 days.)   This quarter helped me find my weaknesses and my strengths when it comes to studying and managing my time for different kinds of things. I’ve learned to manage my time by taking care of myself, doing my hobbies and studies, and, of course, managing my small business. It wouldn’t be so easy for me to learn these things if it weren’t for the help of my friends and family.   Now that we are going to face the last quarter of 10th grade, I am confident that I can now manage my time well and am hoping that I’ll be able to survive the battle. ...

His Birth, Death and Resurrection

Image
Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter, marks the start of Holy Week, the penultimate week of Lent. Catholics get together during Holy Week to commemorate and take part in the Passion of Jesus Christ. The last part of Christ's life in Jerusalem was during the Passion. It starts with His arrival in Jerusalem and ends with His crucifixion. The most significant week of the church year is Holy Week. We commemorate Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection during this season. We recall his deeds, consider his teachings, and renew our commitment to acting as his disciples in the present. This week, we can learn about Jesus’ sacrifices for us. As a student and as a Catholic, this helps me strengthen my beliefs in God. This week, make us remember that we owe our lives to God because he did not just make us as his master piece; he gave us Jesus Christ, who sacrificed himself for us to be free from evil.  References: http://www.clincarthill.org.uk/index.php/holy-week-messages/
