A true LOVE-ly Valentine

Image
St. Valentine’s Day is a very important event that symbolizes love. A lot of people celebrated Valentine's Day by giving their loved ones flowers, chocolates, stuffed toys, and gifts. Some of them surprised their loved ones with a fancy dinner or a simple dinner.   Valentine's Day is a true "love" event that everyone enjoys.   How did I spend my day on Valentine’s Day? I didn’t actually get any flowers because I am the one who gave them to my best friends. Two of my friends gave me chocolate, and the other one treated me a bread at Julie’s. It is not only enjoyable, but it is also not boring because even though I didn’t get flowers, I got my friend’s love. I managed to enjoy it by doing something fun yet embarrassing.   Valentine's Day isn’t always filled with sweet messages, sweet chocolates, flowers, and gifts. As long as you enjoy and express your love towards your loved ones, it is the best Valentine’s Day you will have.

Bring back the past; Kannawidan Festival

Festivals are very special to everyone; in every nation, there is a celebration of their traditions, cultures, and heritages with happiness, peace, and harmony. Kannawidan is one of the most anticipated festivals in Ilocos Sur because it is a showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals, and cooking demos featuring the best of Ilocano dishes. It is very important to celebrate this kind of festival because it cannot just give us happiness, peace, and harmony; as a part of the new generation, it is very important for us to know the history of this place and their products. This festival helps us not forget the beautiful past of our province. They not only give entertainment; they also give knowledge. S o  if you have time, come and visit Kannawidan, or you’ll miss it and wait for another year.

Another battle has passed; another battle to face

Another quarter ends, and I am here hoping that I have high grades this quarter despite being lazy the whole quarter. I know that I am the one to blame, but I did my best to become a responsible student. The hardship of being here in science class is undeniably exhausting. But even though a lot of us made it this far, we might not have high grades this quarter, but at least we learned some lessons: "Being lazy does not mean you are lazy to do something; sometimes being lazy means you are just exhausted and you need some time to fix yourself and do better again."   I noticed that my sleeping time decreased because of the piles of activities to accomplish, subjects to review, and notes to rewrite. And because I lack sleep, I doze off in the middle of classes, which is why I lose focus. Even though I am hoping to have high grades, I just don’t expect much of them now.   So as we move on to the third quarter, I will try to bring back the old me—the competitive Edlyn-side of...
